Come on out to our double-header home opener at The Sleeman Centre in Guelph on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Doors open at 6:30. First game starts at 7:00pm as the Killer Queens take on Violet Uprising. At 9pm, The Brute-Leggers will be battling it out against Brantford’s Belles of the Brawl! Both games in this double header resulted in fantastic bouts between well-matched teams. The hard-hitting DRRD girls took one game and RCRG took the other. In the first game RCRG’s Killer Queen’s smashed the Atom Smashers with a score of 175 to 143. It was a close game but Killer Queen’s used a couple of well-timed power jams to their advantage allowing them to take the game. It is with great sadness that the Royal City Roller Girls share with you the news that one of our skaters Karen “Kiss My Ashlinn” Evered recently lost her battle with lung cancer. RCRG members and fans are lucky to have had the opportunity to know Karen and have her contribute so much to our league. She will be greatly missed. To her husband Thom and family we give our heartfelt sympathy and strength to get through this difficult time. ♥
